Synopsis

Zaire, January 1993. Rachel's family, an 8-year-old French girl, lives in Kinshasa in a house overlooking the Congo River. Following the usual routine (shopping, lunch, nap ...) the city is subjected to violent looting by Zairean soldiers. Luckily, Rachel's family escapes their violence. She, her mother and her sister take refuge at the French Embassy and wait for the events to calm down.

Éléonore Goldberg

Eleonore Goldberg is a Franco-Canadian animation filmmaker, author and cartoonist.

She has published her graphic novels with collectives since 2006. She illustrated the graphic novel La demoiselle en blanc (2016, Éditions Mécanique générale), and she wrote the novel Maisons fauves (2019, Éditions Triptyque). The animated short-film Wandering was nominated at the Gala du cinéma québécois in 2014. In 2017, Éléonore completed My Yiddish Papi, with Picbois Productions and the National Film Board of Canada.
