– From the Executive Committee

We would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to all those who have been affected by the crisis caused by COVID-19. I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to all those who are involved in protecting people’s lives and health and the infrastructure of society in the face of the risk of infection. In light of the current situation, the New Chitose Airport International Animation Film Festival this year will try a new approach: holding the festival onsite and online at the same time. This hybrid format is an ambitious attempt to counter the spread of the new coronavirus as well as to look ahead to a new era of film festivals. We hope that filmmakers and audiences who have been familiar with the past six editions of the festival will be able to look forward to the new style of the Airport festival. For the onsite edition, we will take every precaution to prevent infectious diseases. We would appreciate your understanding and support for the event.
